Information only

Nosemo provides general information about birds and birdwatching. It is not professional, legal or veterinary advice. Bird presence, timing, behavior and status change, and our guides cannot predict what you will see. Use your own judgment, and check local sources and regulations.

Respect wildlife and the law

You are responsible for how you behave when you watch birds. Follow local, state and federal laws and park or refuge rules. In the United States, most wild birds are protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, and some species have extra protection. Do not harass birds, disturb nests, or enter closed or private areas. Follow the guidance in How to Observe Birds Responsibly.

Safety

Birdwatching takes place outdoors. You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of anyone with you, including weather, terrain, traffic, insects, wildlife and water.

Our content

Text, layout, data compilations and the design of Nosemo are owned by Nosemo unless noted. You may read, share links to, and quote short excerpts with credit and a link back. You may not copy whole pages or republish the library at scale without written permission.

Photos

Bird photos are published under the licenses shown in each credit line (for example Creative Commons licenses or public domain). Those licenses apply to the photos themselves. If you reuse a photo, follow its license terms, including attribution.
